Nov 2 - Day Tripping

Friday was the first day of the Daubard Weekend, but we started out small, with a stop at the Rosetree Glass Gallery in Algiers, where we enjoyed the beautiful glass objects in the gallery and watched a glassblower at work.

We rode the ferry to Canal Street, where Lloyd dropped us off to catch a streetcar to City Park.
The cousins got up close and personal
with some of New Orleans's more
colorful characters.

At City Park, the trees were as interesting as the sculpture in the Besthoff Sculpture Gardens at the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA).

Break time on a very warm afternoon.

It was a hot afternoon, so we went to Fellini's at 900 North Carrollton Avenue for a cold drink.

From Fellini's, we wended our way over to Dooky Chase's Restaurant for the first of the Daubard-Dobard Family Weekend events.
