Friday was the first day of the Daubard Weekend, but we started out small, with a stop at the
Rosetree Glass Gallery in Algiers, where we enjoyed the beautiful glass objects in the gallery and watched a glassblower at work.

We rode the ferry to Canal Street, where Lloyd dropped us off to catch a streetcar to City Park.

The cousins got up close and personal with some of New Orleans's more colorful characters. |
At City Park, the trees were as interesting as the sculpture in the
Besthoff Sculpture Gardens at the New Orleans Museum of Art (NOMA).

It was a hot afternoon, so we went to Fellini's at 900 North Carrollton Avenue for a cold drink.
From Fellini's, we wended our way over to Dooky Chase's Restaurant for the first of the Daubard-Dobard Family Weekend events.
