Nov 3 - Mardi Gras World

Saturday afternoon part of the family gathered at Mardi Gras World. We couldn't offer our cousins a Mardi Gras parade, so we settled for the next best thing. Kevin and Wynette Dobard and daughters Allison and Amanda joined us from Georgia.

Ready to tour Mardi Gras World.

We had a private tour.

After the tour ended, we wandered through the enormous warehouse / workshop.

Louis Armstrong was there.

So was General DeGaulle
Costumes on display
Romain as a jester.
Lloyd helps Valli. I thought this angle was more
interesting than the one from the front.

Bernard found a prop reminiscent of his bacon-and-eggs dinner

Some of the items were from previous years' floats.

Pat Dobard & the Daubards taking a break
near floats under construction.

My favorite: a turkey vulture.
Don't ask ... lol

 R&R at the Riverwalk

When we left Mardi Gras World, we headed over
to the Riverwalk for a little rest, relation and shopping.
The café was on the Spanish Plaza.

While we were relaxing, a cruise ship departed
for a few days in the Caribbean.
In a little while we were to board the Creole Queen, a much smaller ship, for the evening's activity.
