The first of the group activities for the Daubard-Dobard Family Weekend was dinner at Dooky Chase's Restaurant. The food, of course, was delicious, but the best part was sharing the evening with family. The cousins came from California, Florida, Georgia, and Texas as well as Louisiana and France.

A rare moment, when nearly everyone was seated and busy eating. |
Amongst the love and chatter, there was also dinner: Leah's famous gumbo to start, a green salad, and the entrée was shrimp jumbalaya, fried catfish, and panéed chicken. Dessert was a choice of peach cobbler or bread pudding.
The bread pudding didn't last long. It was about this time that the symbol of an empty plate with five spoons recumbent became the new family crest of la famille Daubard.
